Kings College School, Mar Menor Golf Resort, Spain

Now, La Torre Golf Resort has even more to offer you in addition to its villas with views over the Jack Nicklaus designed golf course, or to its future five star Intercontinental Hotel or its many other facilities - the new King's College school in Spain.
At King's College, we have discovered over the length of our history that the education of each child is hugely enriched if the vital academic work is complemented by a series of other activities - both physical and intellectual - which facilitate an even more complete development.
From very early on, you can trust your sons and daughters to the safe hands of King's College, as the school offers a specially designed pre-Nursery unit for children aged from 18 months to 3 years old. In this unit, your child will begin to enjoy the experience of learning step by step, in a series of stimulating pre-school activities which will develop all aspects of his or her character.
For children from the age of 3, the King's College Infant Department encourages self-discipline, a sense of responsibility and respect for others, while always maintaining a positive approach to learning through the application of the best possible educational experiences.
Junior
The junior School covers the National Curriculum Key Stage 2, Years 3 to 6 (ages7 - 11).
Our aim during these years is to build up each child's own confidence, at the same time as to awaken their natural curiosity, placing special emphasis on investigation methods to facilitate learning and encourage independence.
Senior
In this phase, the degree of specialisation in learning content builds upon previous successes. All classes are given by specialist teachers in each specific subject.
Years 7 to 9 of the National Curriculum
Between 11 and 14 years old, pupils follow a balanced, varied programme which includes the immediate introduction of three types of Sciences: Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Also, two more modern languages are introduced. As in Britain, towards the end of Year 9, pupils at the school take Standard Achievement Tests in English, Mathematics and Sciences, as well as being entered for GCSE Spanish.
Years 10 and 11 of the National Curriculum
Following a preparation of the National Curriculum, exactly identical to the one followed in British schools, learners from 14 to 16 years of age prepare the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGSE) in English language, Maths, Sciences and Spanish, as well as other specific subjects depending on which career path they have chosen to follow.
Years 12 and 13 of the National Curriculum-A levels
Access to the Sixth Form to begin preparation of Advanced Subsidiary (AS) examinations and Year 12 and General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (A2) examinations in Year 13, is open to those students of between 16 and 18 years old, who have passed a required minimum of subjects at (I)GCSE with good grades.
Success in the A level exams gives access to university education worldwide. English A levels are recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education, as equivalent to the Spanish "Bachillerato" which students can also opt to follow, if they prefer.
